Mail Gateway

Mail Gateway is a separate application that actions all GP Communicator scheduled functions including polling, sending and receiving and clinical interface.

  • In England, Wales and Northern Ireland it is on the desktop of the GPC Machine (local area network) or EDI account (remote or managed server).

    • Local Area Network - Mail Gateway cannot be closed as it must be running for scheduled processes to work. It therefore starts up automatically when your GPC Machine starts.

    • Remote or Managed Server - The person who logs in using the EDI login, double clicks Mail Gateway to start the application.

  • In Scotland nominated staff have Mail Gateway functionality built into their log in. Double click Mail Gateway to start the application.
